Cats On Tuesday: Kittens

One of the strays who lives in the storm drains in the back lane has brought her kittens to our back doorstep. This is rather unexpected as the mum is feral and frightened of people. Maybe she's listening to her sisters and cousins who aren't scared of me!

I've given her some water and biscuits, and in return she let me take her picture. But as you can see by her expression, she's exhausted. Poor little cat; I'll try to look after her if she'll let me.

You have one of the hardest but most rewarding experiences ahead of you. You are an angel to help her out. The babies look nice and fat and healthy.

You question: Yes, you may have your dog in the park on a leash but not on the small beach. But dogs swim there all the time.

Thank you for helping out the strays. It is nice that mama cat felt like it it was safe to be on your door step. You must be doing something right! the kittens are just adorable!

Having these kittens is not my idea; I would like to see them all spayed but it costs a bomb to do all of them - and my neighbours don't approve! So I'm trying to talk them round.

One of the kittens has died. The others look very healthy.

As for adoption: their mum is feral but these kittens will probably be adoptable. Thing is, there are shelters full of cats that nobody wants so I don't think I'll have any luck getting these homes. But I'll try once they're old enough.
