COT Near Casualty
We have an open drain pipe outside that we covered with a tile and two bricks. Yet somehow it got moved and one of the kittens fell into the drain. Luckily we heard it squeak and went out to look. Tom has VERY long arms and he was able to reach down and get it out. We hope it will make it but it was a very wet, very scared kitty.
We dried it off and gave it back to the mummy cat. She lets us touch her so hopefully she'll accept it back - even with funny drain smell.
Here she is with her previous kitten that did make it.
PS If you're thinking of adopting a dog, and you live in Selangor, Malaysia, consider this one!
This abandoned dog found yesterday is a Great Dane/local mix. As the finder says, "It was in terrible condition, and bleeding. Very skinny and initially we thought it had a great wound but after washing the dog, we found out that the ear was torn. It's very gregarious and such a sweet dog. I would love to adopt it but I live in an apartment!"
The dog will shortly be taken away so if you are interested, contact me at katztales AT lepak.com and I'll put you in touch with the right people.
Oh, I am glad you rescued the kitten. I also hope you find the good dog a home! Oh, you are doing such a great job saving the animals. Thank you so much!
Thanks for stopping by and saying hello. I am happy you got the kitty out of the hole. I enjoyed the photo with the story. I hope you find a home for the dog.
Poor little kitten ! Fortunately you could save it. It's so sad for the dog, I can't understand people who are doing such things. I hope he finds a good home.
I'm glad you saved that kitten. It would be a trauma for the mummy if she have found him lost. I have worst encounter this week. I tried to help an injured stray but he refused to let me help him. He has an obvious piece of flesh cut off from his lips.
Oh, thank you for rescuing the kitten. I'm glad there's another person with a good heart out there. My dad rescued 2 kittens a month ago. They were stuck in the drain in front of my house and after my dad took them out (he got lotsa scratches from the scared little ones), he decided to put them together with a bunch of kittens we've at our home (He went up and down the street looking for the mother cat but found no trace of it whatsoever. Seems that the kittens are of the same mpther). It took a while for them to get used to it but yeah, they're doing fine now (Though they're still scared of human, they get along very well with our 3 cats and other little kittens)
FYI - thanks to a reporter for Star Metro - the dog owner claimed the dog over the weekend! We made sure to verify that he was the owner.. turns out that he couldn't take care of the dog because of the ear injury, and so subsequently gave it to a friend, who gave it to someone else ... and the dog ended up being dumped! Naturally our first question was whether he could take care of the dog now, when he couldn't before but he is so contrite of finding the dog in the newspaper, and that his daughter was very upset so hopefully, he's turned over a new leaf and learnt to be a better owner!
