Formerly Feral Friday
Target was born in a storm drain somewhere in Subang Jaya. He and his family got sick with some sort of flue. They were rescued by a very kind lady called Neamah. Unfortunately, only Target survived.
Our friend Scoop had passed away leaving Au rather lonely. Our vet Lee Wei Wei (who has now moved to her own clinic and we really miss her!) introduced us to Neamah and Target.
Although he's been treated well by his foster mum and by us, his furver family, Target is a little fraidy cat. He jumps if we sneeze without giving him notice. Panics if the wind slams a door closed. He even jumps when the label of the teabag flutters against my glass!!
Still, we adore our little fuzzy and he loves living with us. Here he is with the feather duster we bought for him. We put it in the cupboard and bring it out every few weeks so that it remains a favourite toy.
Scoop passed away two years ago this Sunday. He was a fantastic person. We still miss him every day, and I still see him sitting in front of the window sometimes. Sometimes when I'm half asleep I can hear his loud meow that made Tom nickname him "the marching band".
Anyway, for those of you in Malaysia, Dog Talk is out in The Star Weekender section tomorrow. It's in the print version only so you have to buy the paper!
Also, I'm being rather sneaky. This post was written yesterday. I'm very tired and need to take a complete break from everything. So I'm switching off my PC, my phones etc until Monday 28th. See you all when I get back.
We're so glad that Target recovered from the flu and is now part of your family! He may be skittish but he now lives a life filled with love just like he deserves!
I am so glad you got to bring home Target, he is a cute boy! LOL, he loves the feather duster! That is very cute! Is it 2 years already. I miss reading about Scoop.
Wow! That is a survival story. Peeve is a frady cat too. He jumps from most everything. Sassie just looks at us like we are goofballs and goes back to sleep. I hope you have a restful vacation. "See" you when you return.
We miss Scoop too. We've read so much about him that he has become part of our family. I will light a candle for him on World Animal Day. Rest in Peace, dear Scoop. We will never forget you.
Ellen, Target sounds a lot like Pixie. Pixie jumps out of his skin if we so much as tap him on the shoulder without giving him prior notice. Silly boy!
